Location plan of “Abschnitt E”. This sector had three subsectors, which the Germans referred to as “Unterabschnitte”, designated with the Roman numerals I, II and III. The Abschnitt held a military status equivalent to a division. The headquarters of Abschnitt E was located along the slope of the ridge near Heudicourt-sous-les-Côtes.
On LiDAR, the foundations of the barracks of this former divisional headquarters are still visible. The main building was located at the coordinates: 48°56'0.30"N 5°39'56.79"E.
